COMPARISON OF ZOYSIA LAWNS
Show below are graphs about various Zoysia varieties, both
seeded ones (Zenith /
Compadre) and vegetative established ones
such as Emerald, El Toro, Meyer, etc (We sell as
plugs). that must be established from
plugs or sod as NO seeds are available.
Click on pictures above to Purchase seeds or plugs
(depending on what is available for each species cultivar.) --- More
information about varieties are shown below.

Zenith & Compadre
varieties.

- Reasons to consider ZENITH!

Zoysia. |
- Zenith Zoysia
can provide a better quality turf than Meyer and basically about
the same quality as found with El Toro and Emerald. It is
not quite as fine bladed as Emerald.
- Zenith turf color
is the same as Meyer and El Toro and has a
better, darker green color than Emerald.
- Zenith performs better
under drought stress than Meyer, El Toro and
Emerald.
- Zenith survives winter
temperatures better than El Toro, Emerald and Meyer.
- Zenith establishment time
from seeds is faster than plugs. Plugs can take anywhere
from 2 to 4 years to completely cover.

| SEED USE
NOTICE: Please note that we ONLY
recommend Zoysia seeds for use in bare soil areas.
Planting seeds into existing grasses has a HIGH
FAILURE rate. If planting into an existing lawn (grass
and/or weeds) we recommend that you consider using Zoysia
plugs instead of
seeds. - Zoysia seeds also are difficult to achieve
germination in low light / shady areas. Use plugs in
these areas for best results. |
Above: Seeded lawns can generally be established faster
than plugs / sprigs. Sod of course is instant. - Weeks to play
refers to golf use.

Emerald is considered the finest Zoysia, but unfortunately
no seeds; and it also does not have much cold tolerance. - See
lawnplugs.com for more
information on Zoysia plugs.

Above and Below: Zenith is a tough grass withstanding
adverse droughts better than other varieties.

Zenith has outstanding cold tolerance, equal or exceeding
that of the long term grass used in Northern states such as Rhode
Island.

Above: Zenith (And Compadre) seed are an economical
method of planting.

Zenith's color is a dark green grass. (Comparison Above &
